Resolution

Letter from a past client:

I first came to the Resolution meeting held in my home town, reeling with vertigo caused by an imbalance in my left ear. I was feeling very low at the time as it usually clears up fairly quickly but this time it was going on for months.

I was fairly sceptical of the treatment at first, but I had nothing to lose so gave it a good try. – It is working.

Initially keeping on with the active sessions, especially at work was very hard and tiring, but with my wife and Olivia’s support it became much more bearable over the next few months.

I fully commend the treatment for anyone suffering from this vertigo, migraine or IBS. My son suffered from IBS and we both attended the meeting together and worked on our individual illnesses, his IBS became less and less too.

So I recommend that you give Resolution a go, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Resolution - a new way of dealing with vertigo

Vertigo & Meniere's Disease -

Middle ear infection?

 - or part of the Neurological Wave Syndrome (NWS) symptoms

Resolution was first developed in 2004 to help people with migraine to gradually reduce all of the associated symptoms until they disappeared.

No-one knew in 2004 just how many symptoms were going to be presented as part of a migraine pattern, and even more amazingly, how the Resolution technique worked on them all.  The list of symptoms just grew and grew, and then we began to call the syndrome "Neurological Wave Syndrome" because many people had a selection of symptoms that did not include headache or migraine.  A common denominator that linked these symptoms was the fact that they all disappeared as a result of using Resolution techniques.

Neurological Wave Syndrome is the name given to a group of symptoms that stem from a wave of neurological activity - a pulse of electricity that surges along one nerve, and discharges into the area at the end of the nerve.  Just imagine, an electric charge causing vertigo!

Resolution is a new way of reducing symptoms of NWS.  The intensity and duration of symptoms gradually diminish down to nil over a period of time.  The techniques are taught using CDs and telephone coaching.

Neurological Wave Syndrome Theory

In 2004 I began to help people to gradually reduce all of their symptoms linked with migraine down to nil, using a very different technique, called Resolution. (Bear with me, this does have relevance to vertigo and dizziness too).

Migraine begins with a wave of neurological activity, a pulse of electricity, that runs along a nerve and discharges wherever that nerve ends.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome also begins with a wave of neurological activity and this time the bowel receives the blast of electricity - and it hurts!  The greater the electricity, the more it hurts.  Small electrical pulses can cause aching, rather than shear pain.

The reactions of migraine headache and IBS (diarrhoea, bloating and flatulence), couldn't be more diverse, but they both have the same originator - that phantom blast of electricity.

Now, you may be wondering why I am talking about migraine and IBS now, well you would never guess, but when people begin using Resolution for their migraine or IBS, they also had many other symptoms of other conditions, and some of them had vertigo or dizziness!

Some people said that if they didn't have migraine, they had their vertigo.  That was curious.  We also noticed that some people had many different symptoms at different times.  Everyone who knew how to use Resolution techniques used them for every symptom they had - including vertigo.

We knew that the wave of neurological activity could change route, as many people can feel it changing when they are using the Resolution techniques.  Sometimes it changed quickly, from one minute to the next.  It was as if the electricity was jumping from one nerve to another.  the symptoms were so very different, and yet the cause was the same - the wave of neurological activity.

Resolution is a technique to reduce the wave of neurological activity.  We found it worked for a multitude of symptoms and conditions.  As you can imagine, this technique is so new and so different, it takes some getting used to!

The good thing about Resolution is that it is a procedure. It isn't faith healing.   You don't have to believe in it for it to work.  You just have to follow the instructions.

It's easy to learn it, with a CD and regular telephone coaching sessions.  I make these personally, and I have others who are trained to coach when I am too busy.  At first you hear from me every week, and as you learn the routine, you will also be given new techniques for particular occasions.

It is so exciting and so much fun.  At first you will be working hard to repeat the exercises at regular intervals, but as your condition eases, you spend less time on it, until, like me, you can send away any symptom in just a few moments.

Vertigo - A symptom of NWS

Many people have unusual Neurological Wave symptoms.  When these symptoms appear on their own, no one guesses that they may be linked to migraine, or NWS, and they often remain as an undiagnosed mystery. Select the symptoms button above, and as you read down this list, you may find that you recognise other symptoms that you have experienced.  Many of them have previously never been linked together.  It seems that everyone has a different selection of symptoms, and these can change from time to time.

Vertigo is often experienced as a symptom all on its own. At other times of their lives, sufferers have other NWS symptoms - migraine, IBS or fibromyalgia.

The medical profession recognises some symptoms are linked with migraine, even without the headache being present.  "Bilious attacks"  are migraine attacks that do not cause the headache, just the nausea and vomiting.  Some people have migraine attacks at a different time to bilious attacks, demonstrating how the wave of neurological activity can change direction.

Can Vertigo be a Symptom of Migraine?

One lady who was visiting me regularly for weight control had suffered vertigo. The vertigo attacks lasted three weeks at a time, every six months over the previous six years, and she had always received a course of antibiotics for a "suspected middle ear infection".  Each time, after a few weeks, the condition would disappear. The client successfully used the Resolution programme to clear her vertigo.

Not surprisingly, I discovered that this lady had suffered from migraine when she was a teenager, and IBS while she was in her twenties.  Now that she was in her thirties, vertigo had become her problem.  You can see now how this condition can move through the different systems of the body, causing different symptoms at different times.

Middle Ear Infection  - or Migraine?

Other existing migraine clients had experienced similar ear problems, and some had even had surgery. The question arises, do these people have a middle ear infection?  Well, perhaps they do indeed.  Often it can not be visible to the GP, but if the symptoms suggest middle ear infection, then it is not an unreasonable assumption.  However, what came first?  The infection or the pain?  We always assume the pain is caused by the infection. Amazingly, by the time you have studied the Resolution Programme, you may agree that this may not be the case.

What Comes First - The Pain or the Inflammation?

Consider the pain in condition, of IBS. I always assumed the pain was caused by flatulence or diarrhoea. Although I had discovered the techniques to stop my migraine attacks 25 years ago, I had not considered for one minute that migraine and IBS were in any way connected. One day, I discovered that IBS, like migraine, begins with a wave of neurological activity. I was amazed, and I couldn't wait until the next time my IBS started up so that I could try out the technique on my abdomen. Sure enough, I was completely bowled over when it worked almost instantly. What was also so mysterious when I first started using this technique was that the pain seemed to go away without there being any resulting diarrhoea or flatulence.

I realised that the pain precedes the diarrhoea, and that using the programme to send the pain away means that NO diarrhoea or any consequences ensue. The intensity of the pain made me realise that this wave of neurological activity was quite a blast of electricity, discharging into the tissue of my bowel. I could understand how physical damage could be occurring. I could work out how other inflammatory conditions could be caused by a wave of neurological activity. Could arthritis itself also be one of the results of neurological wave syndrome?

Could it be that the middle ear infection is as a result of the pain, and not the other way round? The lady who had recurring vertigo has now sent it away, and she does not get ‘middle ear infections’ any more. However, she may simply have had a neurological pain, and she may never have had any middle ear infection. It is not easy to see.

Other migraine clients have since reported that they had a period of their lives when they had searing earache and possible ear infections. This is not to say that there may be many people who do indeed have a real ear infection, but only to suggest that searing earache may alternatively be a symptom in this migraine group. Similarly, there may be people who have IBS type symptoms that are caused by something other than this migraine condition, and so on. We have to keep an open mind, and always consider that people may indeed have an infection. It is interesting that so often in my teenage life doctors were unable to identify infection in cystitis even though I have been in extreme pain. Was this yet another symptom at the time?

Meniere's Disease

Meniere's Disease is characterised by inflammation of the middle ear, vertigo and tinitis.  There are often temporary periods of deafness. This fits in with the NWS theory that the wave of neurological activity causes initial irritation, followed by tissue inflammation, and ultimately more serious damage.  many sufferers also complain of other NWS symptoms, like headaches, sinusitis, or IBS.

Sound sensitivity

As migraine gradually reduces when people are using the programme, people become aware of any less obvious related symptoms. Some people noticed that their tolerance to sound had been reduced.  Previously, their other symptoms were so severe that this one was the least of their worries, but having reduced all their other symptoms, they could then recognise this as yet another to add to my list.

Searing Earache

I have suffered occasional bouts of searing earache in my life.  As a child I had tonsillitis many times, and usually earache at the same time.  Perhaps that is where my system learnt how to create this pain, because at other times of my life when I may not even have had a cold, I have experienced this pain on its own.  Last time I felt it coming on, three years ago, I began to use the programme on it, and it died down gradually over a few days. It has not returned.  Other clients have had similar experiences, and used the programme to reduce the searing pain until it was completely gone.  This is another potential symptom of migraine that can be mystifying when it appears on its own.  The comforting thing about the programme is that of it doesn’t send the symptom away, it causes it no harm.
