Resolution

for neuralgia - trigeminal neuralgia, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, coxalgia or coxodynia (hip pain), fybromyalgia, searing earache, toothache, sinusitis, pancreatitis

Resolution is a new technique that reduces many symptoms and conditions.  At first, it was used for migraine, and then it was discovered that the same technique worked for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and many more conditions.   People who had mastered the technique began to use it for many of their other problems, like tension, S.A.D (seasonally affected disorder), dips and sudden changes in mood e.g. outbursts of bad temper.  It was soon found that people who only suffered from these neuralgic symptoms, like trigeminal neuralgia, also responded well to the Resolution techniques.

Neuralgia

Trigeminal Neuralgia, and sciatica are examples of neuralgic pains.  They belong to a group of searing pains that are seemingly with no cause.  What this really means is that the nerves themselves seem to be causing the pain, as there is no injury, constriction, or infection causing the problem.  Neurologists face a difficult problem in these cases, and drugs that can interrupt the pain messages from reaching the brain would be the ideal solution.  However, these drugs can have unwanted side effects.

On regular telephone coaching calls, I ask people if they have felt any new symptoms of any kind since our last discussion.  When people are using Resolution, they seem to be beating the neurological wave and discouraging it from its usual path.  There is often a change in the usual pattern of symptoms, with a migraine progressing in a different way.  As the techniques begin to have more effect, the neurological wave can change dramatically, and begin to travel down a completely different route, to many unexpected places in the body.  This can then manifest as sciatica, bowel pain, neck and shoulder stiffness or pain, trigeminal neuralgia, sinusitis, or any other neuralgic pain.  It can even fire off into the stomach causing really bad indigestion, or into the bladder causing cystitis.

Some people already have a roving neurological wave pattern, suffering very different symptoms as the wave changes direction.  They often say the phrase, “If it’s not one thing – it’s another!”

Trigeminal Neuralgia

Trigeminal neuralgia is a searing pain usually involving three of the facial nerves on one side of the face.    Sometimes people suffer continual searing 24-hour pain that prevents them from normal sleep.  Other people find that the pain comes and goes.  People often end up visiting the pain clinic in hospitals after months of agony, where they can be given one of the very strong pain drugs.  These can have unpleasant side effects, and often make little or no difference to the pain.

Jane came to see me about losing weight, and also to see if I could help her with her trigeminal neuralgia.  The neuralgic pain reduced to about half its former strength, and Jane found that her mood also lifted considerably.  Jane had not realised that she had felt so low while she was coping with her trigeminal neuralgia, until she began to feel ‘lightness’ after using the programme. This is an example of many times when people reported that their unreasonable low morale had lifted as a result of using Resolution.  As a result of this feedback, I realised that low morale, without a logical cause, may also be due to Neurological Wave Syndrome (NWS).

Plantar Fasciitis

Carol introduced me to plantar fasciitis in 2005.  She had spent the previous three months on sick leave, trying to deal with a searing pain coming from her heel.  The pain was unrelenting, and wavered in intensity from ‘very bad’ to ‘off-the-scale’ pain all the way through twenty-four hours. After many visits to the pain clinic, nothing had made any difference to this pain.

Other organs can be affected too.

Cystitis, Interstitial Cystitis, frequency in passing urine.

One of the more surprising symptoms linked to the Neurological Wave Syndrome was that of cystitis of the bladder.  A few people complained of a bout of severe bladder cystitis that appeared around the time when they were working on their migraine.  The cystitis sometimes reoccurred, and it seemed that the usual antibiotic treatments from the doctor did not have any affect.  This cystitis was a raging pain, with a constant urgent sense of needing to urinate.  I encouraged people to use the techniques that they had used for their migraine, directing it to the bladder area, and people found it responded in a similar ‘Resolution’ way.  At first it took no notice, then after a day it would disappear after a session and then reappear, and as time went on it stayed away longer, until it disappeared.

In another case of ‘interstitial cystitis’ one woman told me that she was in bed, not because of her cystitis, it was because of her migraine.  She said, “At least I don’t have my cystitis today.  I can put up with this migraine for a change.”  The wave of neurological activity had switched from one direction to another.

Sinusitis

Many migraine attacks begin with a pain in the sinuses, in the region behind or beneath the eye.  People begin Resolution exercises when they get the first sign of their migraine, and aim the activity right at the area of pain.  One day, I wondered whether Resolution would work on ordinary sinusitis.

I occasionally had a sensation of inflammation in my sinuses, and so I began to use the programme directly on this spot.  Strangely, the sinusitis diminished, and the sinuses didn’t seem to have any problems afterwards, so I concluded that there had been no infection. Many other sinusitis sufferers have since tried the programme with success.

I still wondered how much the sinusitis I had felt was due to NWS, and how much could have been due to infection.  One day, I really did have a virus infection, and I had many different symptoms.  I minimised the potential headache, the sore throat and the very sore sinuses, but I did not send them completely away.  In fact, my sinuses bled freely whenever I sneezed.  They were truly infected.  I had not been able to send this virus away.

Sinusitis can be a real infection, and at other times, it is caused by neurological wave syndrome.  Luckily, Resolution does no harm if the symptom is due to infection.

After the viral infection, my sinuses repeated the soreness from time to time.  After a while, I thought I had to take action, and used the Resolution technique to give it a final push.  I came to realise that after a viral attack, the body seems to repeat the habit of the illness, even though the virus has long gone.  My big ‘push’ using the Resolution techniques seemed to settle the nerves down again.

Toothache or neuralgia in the gum

How often have we experienced a toothache, only to be told by a mystified dentist that the tooth seems to be fine!  Some people suffer this type of pain for years.  This is a neuralgic pain, and it responds well to the Resolution Programme.

Searing Earache

I suffered occasional bouts of searing earache as a child and I had often tonsillitis at the same time.  Perhaps that is where my nerves learnt how to create this pain, because at other times of my life, even at times when I may not even have had a cold, I have occasionally experienced this pain all on its own.  The last time I felt a searing earache coming on, three years ago, I began to use Resolution on it, and it died down gradually over a few days. It has not returned.  Other clients have had similar experiences, and used the programme to reduce their searing pain until it was completely gone.

Middle Ear Infection

Quite a number of the people who suffered from migraine told me they had experienced ear problems as children and some had even had surgery. Many had begun their ear problems in childhood and as adults, they had occasionally had spells of possible "middle ear infection", with the symptoms of pain, but not any outward signs of inflammation.

The question I ask is, did these people have a middle ear infection?  Well, perhaps they did indeed.  Often it cannot be visible to the GP, but the symptoms suggest middle ear infection.   However, what came first, the infection or the pain?  We always assume the pain is caused by the infection. By the time I had collated many case histories, I began to believe that this was not the case.  There were times when people switched off the initial pain of earache, and found that there were no further symptoms of inflammation.

Fibromyalgia

I wondered whether Fibromyalgia should appear in the neuralgia section, but it is often thought of as a very different condition.  Many doctors find this one particularly mysterious.  It seems to affect many nerves at the same time, with less searing pain, more a case of a severe, debilitating ache.

Fibromyalgia can appear alone, and is often also diagnosed as part of M.E. and other NWS conditions.  This is a painful condition that also involves some inflammation of some joints.  There are so many joints in the body.  Some of them are moveable joints, like the knee or the elbow, and others are called fixed joints, like the pelvic bones.  These joints are welded together with cartilage.  Sometimes fybromyalgia can affect almost every joint, and people can hardly move for it, ending up in wheelchairs.

Quite often people can suffer for a couple of years, and then it seems to gradually reduce and usually people get right back to normal. The steroids given traditionally to help the pain and inflammation of fybromyalgia can also cause more problems.  They can cause weight gain, and a host of other side-effects, occasionally causing osteoporosis if used long-term.  As yet, we do not know how successful the Resolution Programme will be against fibromyalgia.  There have been so few fybromyalgia sufferers who have tried the programme.  As I write, Fiona is now using the programme for her Fibromyalgia.  She has been suffering from ME for many years, and over the last eighteen months, she has moved through many stages using the programme on headaches, heavy, painful arms, and recently on her dips in energy.  Last week, in November 2007, Fiona began to use the programme on an attack of fybromyalgia that always coincides with the damp weather conditions.  In my theory of Resolution, I believe that the NWS is sending a fan of electricity along a branching set of nerves.  Fiona told me she could feel the progression of a heavy, and at times painful sensation as it moved from her neck to her shoulder, and then on down through her arms to her hands and fingers.  She was able to direct the active sessions at the sensations, and gradually reduce them over a few weeks until they disappeared.

Coxalgia or coxodynia (hip pain)

Many people who now have hip replacements went through a decade or more of coxalgia or coxodynia - hip pain.   Often beginning with a general ache around the pelvis, this pain then gradually centred on to one hip.  After many years where Neurological Wave Activity had possibly discharged here, inflammation eventually began, and then deterioration of the area.

Philippa from Gloucester first noticed a general pelvic ache eighteen months after dentistry work to help with her migraines.  Looking back, we now wonder whether the dentistry simply diverted the neurological wave (see next paragraph for an explanation).  Once her replacement had been done, Philippa was so disappointed when the neuralgia began again, tracking down towards her other hip.  Using the Resolution techniques, Philippa is hoping to reduce this activity down to nil.

Neurological Wave Syndrome Theory

In 2004 I began to help people to gradually reduce all of their symptoms linked with migraine down to nil, using a very different technique, called Resolution. (Bear with me, this does have relevance to neuralgia too).

Migraine begins with a wave of neurological activity, a pulse of electricity, that runs along a nerve and discharges wherever that nerve ends.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome also begins with a wave of neurological activity and this time the bowel receives the blast of electricity - and it hurts!  The greater the electricity, the more it hurts.  Small electrical pulses can cause aching, rather than shear pain.

The reactions of migraine headache and IBS (diarrhoea, bloating and flatulence), couldn't be more diverse, but they both have the same originator - that phantom blast of electricity.

Now, you may be wondering why I am talking about migraine and IBS now, well you would never guess, but when people begin using Resolution for their migraine or IBS, they also had many other symptoms of other conditions, and some of them had neuralgic pain!

Some people said that if they didn't have migraine, they had their sciatica.  That was curious.  We also noticed that some people had many different symptoms at different times.  Everyone who knew how to use Resolution techniques used them for every symptom they had - including any pain.

We knew that the wave of neurological activity could change route, as many people can feel it changing when they are using the Resolution techniques.  Sometimes it changed quickly, from one minute to the next.  It was as if the electricity was jumping from one nerve to another.  the symptoms were so very different, and yet the cause was the same - the wave of neurological activity.

Resolution is a technique to reduce the wave of neurological activity.  We found it worked for a multitude of symptoms and conditions.  As you can imagine, this technique is so new and so different, it takes some getting used to!

The good thing about Resolution is that it is a procedure. It isn't faith healing.   You don't have to believe in it for it to work.  You just have to follow the instructions.

It's easy to learn it, with a CD and regular telephone coaching sessions.  I make these personally, and I have others who are trained to coach when I am too busy.  At first you hear from me every week, and as you learn the routine, you will also be given new techniques for particular occasions.

It is so exciting and easy to learn.  At first you will be working hard to repeat the exercises at regular intervals, but as your condition eases, you spend less time on it, until, like me, you can send away any symptom in just a few moments.

The Resolution Programme has three Components - Relaxation Sessions, Active Sessions and Telephone Coaching

The Resolution Programme consists of two sets of mental exercises; the "Relaxation Session" and the "Active Sessions ".

These will be sent to you, or you can download the MP3 files, and the written notes will be posted or e-mailed to you.

The tutorial will take you less than one hour in total.  The first 20-minute CD contains the "Relaxation exercises" - but you will not be 'relaxing' these unwanted feelings away.  Once you have listened to the first CD, and followed the guided exercises on it, you will begin the second part of the process.  Guided by the telephone coaching, you will be taught very simple techniques that will re-educate your system.

You will need to re-read the material, or listen to the audio occasionally as a reminder.

Mental Exercises

The subconscious works for us in many ways, running our automatic systems of the body for us, storing our experiences as memories, and also storing our daily skills for us, like driving or typing on a keyboard, so that we can do them 'without thinking'.  The subconscious, far from being locked away inside our brains, is working and active all of the time.  It can learn new skills, store new memories, and change the automatic systems of our physical bodies.  So often, these three areas overlap and influence each other.  Resolution teaches you to use a set of simple exercises to re-educate your own subconscious so that it changes the reactions of the automatic nervous system.

Relaxation Session

During the Relaxation session, various guided mental exercises are done while you simply relax.  It is a very pleasant experience.  The relaxation session only requires to be done once, but it can be repeated without detriment, and possibly with a little extra benefit.  The Relaxation Session is available on a CD, or MP3 so that you can listen to it in your own armchair at home, and let your own subconscious do the work!

Active Sessions

Active Sessions are the second part of Resolution, and  consist of an easily learnt set of simple mental exercises that have to be repeated to remind the system to change until it behaves correctly.  When there are no symptoms, you do nothing at all.

Telephone Coaching

Without the telephone coaching, you are unlikely to get through this programme. For this reason, I recommend everyone to opt for the 'full package'. You will receive regular telephone coaching sessions, beginning weekly in the beginning.

Monitoring the success of the programme

Everyone is encouraged to keep a record of the intensity, duration and frequency of their symptoms.  A chart is provided in the pack.  Surprisingly, you will be able to watch how your symptoms - yes, even the most searing pain, will gradually diminish over a period of time.

You are welcome to telephone to discuss your symptoms, and to speak to a past client from the panel.

Yes - there is a panel of past clients!

The panel is made up of many clients who have experienced Resolution, and have offered to speak to future clients.  They realise how difficult it is to believe that anything can help some conditions.  You can also read the case histories section for examples of these people.

Discover how other people have benefited from Resolution by reading the case histories, and watching the videos.

The videos of interviews on this website should be available in the case history section - if they fail to load, please send me an email.
