What is Resolution?
Resolution consists of a new combination of mental exercises that gradually reduce your symptoms, until they disappear altogether. It is unlike any other therapy. During the initial Relaxation Session, you listen to CD or MP3 '1' This begins to re-educate your subconscious with a technique that will begin to reduce your symptoms. After part 1, you will use a technique called Active sessions when an attack appears, and your symptoms will reduce gradually down to zero. As time goes by, you will get to recognise the earliest signs of your attacks, or your symptoms, and you will be able to send them away even before they begin.
Will I be suitable for Resolution?
85% of women and younger men (under age 50) have found that they have been able to use this programme successfully.
The CD package has proven to be much more successful than the 1:1 sessions for older men.
How will I fit this into my normal work schedule?
Here is Karen's example:
Karen began the RPS in November 2004. She had migraine once or twice a week for many years. She had a manager’s job and she hated the times when she had migraine when there were important meetings. Her vision would begin to go, and she only had time to call for a taxi or her husband before the whole thing began with nausea, vomiting, light sensitivity, and extreme pain. She would be ill for over 24 hours, and then she would feel dreadful for a further two days. Usually she would end up back at work while she was still recovering, but not wishing to miss any more days at work.
In the early days, Karen told her family and her immediate boss what she was going to be doing. They all understood that if this worked, Karen might get rid of her migraine, and they would all benefit. Each time an attack would begin, Karen would take herself off into a different room for about half an hour while she did her routine. Karen knew she would have to go home from work when the next attack began. However, the next migraine began at a weekend, so Karen was able to begin practising the programme by herself, in her bedroom. Predictably, the migraine seemed to take no notice, and it ended up as a full-blown migraine.
Subsequent attacks reduced in intensity and duration, one by one. By the Christmas of 2004, Karen was sending her migraine away in about ten minutes. She didn’t miss any of the days over the Christmas holidays, and she was thrilled. So many events had been missed over the years, so many Christmas days spoilt, but not any more. Karen remains migraine-free, by simply responding to the very first sign of an attack, and sending those migraines away.
Prepare to dedicate time and effort especially in the early days of the programme. If you are not able to do this, you are less likely to succeed.
Can this programme help when migraine or IBS is caused by a reaction to foods ?
This question highlights a concern of many migraine and IBS sufferers. The new techniques developed for the Resolution Programme deal with changing the reaction to known and unknown triggers, including unwanted reaction to foods. However, some people are especially intolerant to wheat, and find that they are only able to eat wheat at a certain rate, e.g. three times a week, after the programme. Most people have been able to get right back to a completely normal diet, including wheat.
Who are Resolution Therapists?
Resolution Therapists are fully qualified therapists who have been trained how to use the new techniques involved in he Resolution Programmes. Only fully qualified and insured therapists are on the team of Resolution Therapists.
Will I really have no more symptoms?
You will almost certainly have the beginnings of attacks, but you will be learning to send them packing within a short space of time and then get on with your day. Once you have mastered the technique, the unwanted symptom or feeling disappears after a few minutes. After a while, it no longer appears at all.
How can anxiety factors be avoided?
Some causative factors are anxiety-based, and these can't be avoided. When people have exams, they sometimes run to the loo. They have temporary symptoms of IBS. When people are being bullied at work, they may find their psoriasis or their asthma is worse. Any stressful influence can mean a flare up of a condition. Moving house, divorce, unhappiness, and over-work, are all common factors that make conditions worse. Some people react badly to even very small amounts of everyday stress. Everyday stress can't be avoided. Resolution teaches your body not to react to stress of any description.
